FFYR Committees

The Florida Federation of Young Republicans has a number of different committees that its elected officers and other Young Republican club members serve on.


These committees are crucial to the operation and success of the FFYR organization and its member clubs in assisting the Republican party at the national, state and local levels, and in promoting republican ideals.


Below is a list of all of the committees for the Floirda Federation of Young Republicans.

Quarterly & Conventions Committee

Committee Chair: Renee Durette


This committee is responsible for the general set up and execution of all FFYR Quarterlies and Conventions. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Hotel research and selection under the Chairman’s direction
  • Event, reception and theme planning
  • Food selection
  • Event decoration
  • On-site registration

This committee meets quarterly.

Resolutions Committee

Committee Chair: Pepe Sosa


This committee is responsible for drafting any resolutions to be brought to the FFYR Board for approval. This allows you the opportunity to bring up any issues important to you to be drafted into an official resolution.

This committee meets quarterly and when necessary.

Web-site Committee

Committee Chair: Kirk


This committee is responsible for continued web-site development and maintenance.

Additionally, the committee is also in charge of continued development and maintenance of our FYRMS Database system.

This Committee meets quarterly and some web-site design experience is necessary.

Newsletter Committee

Committee Chair: Katherine Cockrell


This committee is responsible for the development and creative design of the FFYR newsletter, "The Statesman". This includes but is not limited to:

  • Article submissions
  • Design and layout
  • Distribution of the newsletter

This committee meets quarterly.

Club Development Committee

Committee Chair: Jon Woodard


This committee serves as a link between local YR clubs and the FFYR. Their responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • The creation and implementation of a club development agenda under the discretion of the Chairman
  • Meeting with Club Presidents to discuss club development ideas and answering developmental questions
  • Addressing any issues regarding club development
  • Meeting with the Chairman to address and club developmental issues

This committee meets quarterly.

Club Extensions Committee

Committee Chair: Shawn Richmond


This committee is responsible for starting new Young Republican clubsthroughout the state.

This committee meets quarterly.

Media Relations Committee

Committee Chair: Jessica Brien


This committee is develops & implements media relations strategy. Thecommittee also develops press releases and serves as a response teamto any media inquiries.

This committee meets quarterly.

Finance Committee

Committee Chair: Robert Richmond


This committee is responible for raising funds to support the effortsof the FFYR.

This committee meets quarterly.
